DCDD UK has secured exclusive access to private land located near the famous 6th-century inscribed stone at Slaughter Bridge, Camelford. This one-day event offers detectorists the opportunity to explore historic Cornish farmland in an area steeped in early medieval history and Arthurian legend.

Arthurian Legend & The Battle of Camlann: Slaughter Bridge is traditionally identified as the legendary site of the Battle of Camlann, where King Arthur is said to have fought his final battle against Mordred. While the legend draws visitors worldwide, the surrounding fields are genuinely rich in early post-Roman and dark age history.

The 6th-Century Inscribed Stone: Standing near the riverbank, the famous inscribed stone features Ogham and Latin text, serving as physical evidence of sub-Roman activity, early Christian presence, and trade networks moving through the Camel Valley during the 6th century.

Target Finds in the Surrounding Land: Metal detecting across fields in this immediate area offers high potential for early medieval and post-Roman artifacts. Insurance: Valid NCMD or FID membership is strictly required.

Recovery Code: All targets must be cleanly plugged and backfilled.

Finds Logging: All significant finds and potential Treasure must be recorded with event organizers and reported to the local Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) through the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS).
