Unfortunately, we have to cancel our upcoming metal detecting dig at Honiton scheduled for this weekend.
After speaking with the farm team in Honiton this morning, it’s clear the fields aren’t suitable for detecting right now. The heat has killed off the grass and baked the ground rock-hard like concrete. Trying to dig target holes in soil this solid isn’t fun, risks damaging your equipment, and makes neat recovery nearly impossible—so we aren’t comfortable asking everyone to detect under these conditions.
What happens next?
We will rebook the Honiton dig as soon as ground conditions improve and rain softens up the soil. Keep an eye on our updates for the new date.
