Iron age copper alloy boar

Nice find…

Amazing little Iron Age Copper Helmet Crest 1200 BC – 550 BC. Found in Devon by group member Andy Blackwell on one of his local permissions.

Figurine of a boar of a naturalistic style. Underneath, from the legs to the jaw, there is a deep cast slot indicative of the object having been mounted on a projecting piece of metal or crest.

How did Iron Age get its name?
